ABOUT CHRISTINA

Emmy-nominated Christina “Karli” Skoglund is a highly-specialised, experienced underwater wildlife camera operator and cinematographer.

She is a long-term technical CCR rebreather diver, ice diver and freediver who has spent well over a decade filming in challenging oceanic environments. She was one of the few people in the world to capture the mysterious Greenland Shark under Arctic ice, and her film ‘Sharks of the Icy North’ was the first to show the bioluminescent glow of the Velvet Belly Lantern Shark.

Her work ranges from blue chip series like the upcoming BBC’s Blue Planet 3 to expedition series and feature films.
Christina’s cinematography spans from a multitude of animal species to shooting underwater for cinema and stunt scenes, with a deep interest in bringing new perspectives.

In the most recent years, Christina has also contributed to natural history shows as an on-screen contributor or multilingual presenter while on her mission as a wildlife camerawoman.

Also diving when at home at the Swedish Westcoast with friends & with @diversagainstghostnets, a local non-profit dive group.
